Introduction
Slag is on metal-processing-derived byproduct. By monitoring slag composition, steelmakers can be more productive, power saving, and better quality products, and even the furnace lifespan.
Typically, silicon dioxide (SiO2), calcium oxide (CaO), aluminum oxide (Al2O3), and iron oxide (FeO) are the key components, a proper ratio between these oxides can greatly improve the productivity, effectivity of the slag created during the process.
The fast and accurate analysis is very important, the XRF is the good choice to monitoring slags. With the EDX3600H, the results can be obtained by in few minute thanks to the SDD detector and vacuum system. The SDD detector ensures the less spectra overlapping for the light elements, such as Si and aluminum, the vacuum system can improve the sensitivity of the components.
